About Emma

Counselling and psychotherapy grounded in emotional safety, presence, and depth

I believe that meaningful therapeutic work begins with safety, presence, and relationship

My approach is grounded in the understanding that each person carries a complex inner world shaped by lived experience, relationships, and the ways they have learned to survive and adapt. Therapy, for me, is not about fixing or managing symptoms, but about creating the conditions where deeper understanding, compassion, and change can unfold naturally.

I work slowly and intentionally, honouring the pace of your nervous system and the wisdom of your inner world.

A space shaped by care and understanding

My name is Emma, a counsellor and psychotherapist offering IFS-based online therapy for individuals and couples.

My work is warm, grounded, and deeply relational. I prioritise emotional safety, so you can bring what is real without needing to edit or perform. This is a space where we slow things down and listen carefully to what is happening beneath the surface.

I am a Level Two Trained Internal Family Systems Therapist and a Level 2 member of the Australian Counselling Association. My practice is clinically grounded and ethically held, shaped by both professional training and lived experience.

At the heart of my work is Internal Family Systems, integrated with person-centred, trauma-informed counselling. This approach understands that we are made up of many parts. Some protect us, some carry pain, and all have developed for a reason. Beneath these parts is a deeper core of Self that is calm, clear, and capable of compassion, curiosity, and connection.

Rather than pushing past what feels difficult, our work supports you to approach emotions, patterns, and relational dynamics with understanding rather than judgement. Change happens through safety, attention, and relationship, not force.

Counselling is not about becoming someone new

It is about reconnecting with who you already are

Who this space is for

I work with adults and couples navigating anxiety, burnout, trauma, attachment patterns, relationship challenges, grief, loss, and significant life transitions.

Many of the people I work with are thoughtful and emotionally reflective, often carrying a strong sense of responsibility while feeling worn down, stuck, or disconnected beneath the surface. They’re not looking for quick fixes, but for a place where things can be met with care and depth.

I have worked closely with the impacts of sexual, emotional, and psychological abuse, as well as the challenges of growing up in families affected by addiction, including Adult Child of Alcoholics experiences. My work also includes supporting people through suicidal ideation, perinatal and postnatal depression, birth trauma, early developmental and attachment wounds, body image concerns, eating disorders, and the complex terrain of grief and loss.

These pathways inform how I work with embodiment, relational presence, and nervous system awareness, particularly in relationship and trauma-informed work.
